I admit it. I am a JRock fan. I love their style of music. It is very different from the West. I heard of this song watching the anime "Nana" and fell in love with the song the first time I heard it. Listening to it, I could feel the emotions portrayed through the music and the vocals. It is a beautifully written piece of music. But it only remained a beautiful song and nothing more, until today in the wee hours of the morning, the meaning of the song really stood out and captured my emotions. I suddenly could really relate to the lyrics. I picked up my guitar at 4am in the morning and started playing this song. That someone meant so much to me but the emotions and feelings that are being felt is almost exactly as what is being portrayed. With my eyes closed and guitar in hand, I hummed the song. If you know I'm writing to you and are reading this, this song is for you. If I were to rate this song, I would give it a 9/10. Check it out and see. I'm not an avid pursuer of Bruno Mars music. In fact, I didn't really know Bruno Mars until now. But this song particularly strikes a chord in my head, ringing over and over again. This intensifies even more when the past few weeks, my sister fits the exact same description as the song lyrics. I love the lyrics of the song, though musically it may be a little repetitious but overall, this song is really nice, mostly cuz the wordings appeal to me. I would rate it a 7/10. What is your take on this?

A Humorous God

God is really very very humorous. Even as I reflect about this past couple of days and even weeks that has passed, I realized that God works in unconventional ways. The changes God brought out of me was really through means that I did not see, yet I did change. Was the molding painful? Yes, and it still carries on till today and will still continue. Every pinch, every punch, every burn that the potter places on the clay must really hurt. But the outcome is a beautiful product to behold. People that He has brought into my life, situations that He made me go through, all these sharpens me not in terms of skill but in character.

I entered bible school thinking how can I improve my ministerial skills. Yes, theology is definitely something of incomprehensible value to me but it just remained as such. I always asked, "God, what am I learning?? Just theory? That's all?" But after 2 years in school, as I look back, I realized that my focus was not what God was focusing on. As my eyes were fixed on how I could be skillful, hone my talents and spiritual gifts etc, all of these were not on God's agenda... But God's agenda was to mold my character - and that hurts.

I learned one thing from some of my schoolmates: I may have the best talents in the whole entire world, or earn the highest reputation imaginable, but without character, it all counts for nothing. Another thing that inspired me which God was also working on me ever since the beginning was my spiritual journey with him. I'm so inspired by some of the bible school students of whom I would classify as "spiritual giants". They truly earn my respect.

As the year draws to a close, as I ponder about my time in school, my conclusion is that God has never been interested on my academic side or my skill but rather on my character and spiritual walk with Him.

"God as I venture into the next phase, help me, mold me, shape me, as I surrender all into Your hands, take over........"
